AC Schnitzer Type V WIP 1 by 46sanduhr AC Schnitzer Type V WIP 1 by 46sanduhr
My first serious attempt at rim modeling. I started 3D modeling a couple of months ago. Made a lot of different objects for a school project which I'll share with you later. I used all the experience from the last months to model a copy of my favorite car rim, the "AC Schnitzer Type V". It's still a work in progress so I have to make some adjustments to it but the base is done. The final version will be finished soon.

-Modeled in 3D Studio Max 2010
-Rendered with Vray in 3D Studio Max 2009
-Editted in Photoshop CS4

Nice render overall and great effort, the modelling looks clean and a great use of smoothing technique can be seen in this render.

The width of the rim usually sinks towards the center point but I'm sure your already aware of that. You can make the render look more appealing by placing another rim behind this one laying on its base.

Adding a valve on this rim will also help make it look realistic.

Overall I love the render and the base plate makes the rim look like its placed on a shop floor.

Hope it helps!

Can't wait to see the finished render...

Thanks, I'm glad you like it.. I don't know which car is gonna get this shoes :) I was busy on building an Audi A3 but I haven't had the time to finish that car or this rim.

Glad you like it, like your Cobra model too, really good for a first one. I started on school with some very easy objects and I watched a lot of tutorials and tried things over and over again. I've made a car model as well but I had to do it with a poly limit of 2000... which is nothing. Now, I'm busy on a Audi A3 and a Mustang as well. I actually made a really high poly caliper and brake disk for this rim but I forgot to put it in this WIP. I'll show them later.
